like Bitcoin price Hovering around crucial levels in early 2025, a certain class of Bitcoin holders have quietly increased their holdings.
In a recent report, on-chain analytics firm Santiment examined how Bitcoin wallets of different sizes behave on the network, creating an overall very neutral signal for the next few weeks for the cryptocurrency.
according to saintBitcoin whales holding 10 and 10,000 BTC have accumulated 2,997 BTC since January 1, 2025, indicating increasing confidence in Bitcoin's long-term prospects.
According to the report, this category of holders (10-10,000 BTC portfolio) were the main beneficiaries of the recent bull run because they accumulated heavily, while others panicked and sought to time the peaks. These coins have amassed a staggering 257,000 BTC since October 1 and 199,000 BTC since November 5. Since the end of the year, their accumulation levels have decreased slightly. However, they have added 2,997 BTC since January 1, 2025.
Bitcoin wallets accumulate
Santiment also examines the behavior of others Bitcoin wallets. The 0.1 to 10 BTC wallet category dumped a staggering 84,521 BTC between October 13 and December 27, mostly fueling the whale and shark bag as well as higher prices. However, since then, these wallets have collected 5,604 BTC.
A similar pattern is observed in 0-0.1 BTC wallets. During the recent rally from October to December 24, these small traders were constantly taking profits, often very early. This dumping pattern ended in the last few days of 2024. Since December 29, they have added a small 585 BTC to their bags as a small effort to “buy the dip.” However, this is almost flat when compared to their typical movements.
Santiment also studies the growth in non-empty Bitcoin wallets. From October 13 until the end of 2024, there was a net decline of just over 130,000 Bitcoin wallets, providing enough justification for the ensuing bull market. Since then, there has been some growth, with an additional 84,700 wallets.
At the time of writing, Bitcoin is up 5.97% over the past 24 hours to $96,107.
