Aave is looking ahead to 2025 even further after net deposits reached an all-time high


Aave, a leading DeFi protocol, has had a great year amidst a host of major milestones.

But thousands (ghost), which offers a non-custodial platform that allows users to earn interest on their deposits as well as borrow assets, is eyeing an “even bigger” year in 2025.

Decentralized finance giant subscriber Expectations in its year-end review of the X, noting key milestones such as the introduction of Aave 2030 and V4. The V4 proposal looks at the strategic evolution of Aave across DeFi with improved modularity, reduced overall governance burdens, capital efficiency, and innovative liquidity rollout.

Aave looks forward to strengthening its position with these future applications.

The goal is to build on a year that saw Aave launch into new markets and set records as the total value of the locked protocol reached a new all-time high. In fact, TVL rose as net deposits reached $35 billion while new markets included the expansion of Aave DAO to include Scroll, BNB Chain, ZKSync Era, and Ether.fi. The new markets offered a total value volume of $2.55 billion.

In 2025, Aave DAO governance approval will see the addition of more than six new chains – current proposals include targeted integrations with Sonicand Mantle, Linea, and Spider Chain from Botanix Labs and Aptos.

Also set to see a notable push for further growth is GHO, the over-collateralized decentralized stablecoin native to the Aave protocol. The project has plans to expand across the series after debuting on Arbitrum in 2024. Over the coming months, GHO will look to go live on Base and Avalanche.

In the markets, the AAVE token has seen its price rise to highs of $385 in the past 12 months – a peak last seen in September 2021. While AAVE has pared recent gains, the current price of the DeFi token is up more than 183% in the markets. last year and about 52% of the all-time high above $661 reached in May 2021.
