Forgotten Runiverse launched its "Crash the Runiverse" event on Tuesday, asking players to interact with the fantasy-themed massively multiplayer online role-playing game — also known as an MMORPG — to push its servers to the limits as it prepares for a global launch.
“The goal is simple: stress test our servers to their absolute limits and try to disable them.” Project books On X (formerly known as Twitter).
The event will be open until January 17 at 5 PM ET. After logging into the browser-based world of Forgotten Runiverse, users will be directed to go through the setup process, begin searching for in-game items, and talk to the fictional character Selene.
For their participation in the event, users have the opportunity to profit from a pool of 21 trillion quanta, an in-game currency that can eventually be directly exchanged for XP points, the recently announced ecosystem token for the Forgotten Runes Wizard's Cult NFT project and the forgotten Runiverse game.
All Quanta earned when Forgotten Runiverse officially launches will be distributed in Global Early Access. In addition to earning Quanta, users can also wrap shards into four different sets of cosmetic armor exclusive to the Crash the Runiverse event.
Crash the Runiverse is the third major event hosted by Forgotten Runiverse, following Eve of Memory and New Foundations in 2024. Players from previous events will also be eligible for Quanta airdrop.
The latest event implements improved party, chat, and other UI improvements, but a much broader range of new content is expected later this year.
Forgotten Runiverse launched its open beta in August after migrating to Ronin Blockchainan Ethereum sidechain gaming network and home to popular games such as pixel and Axi Infinity. In this MMORPG, players can join forces to fight through PvP and PvE adventures based on forgotten rune lore.
