Grayscale-related headlines have been plentiful this year, from GBTC transformation To the ETF, its Outflowsproduct spin offmore filings and Releases confidenceYada yada.

The occasional update (which also appears today) is just that Former CEO of GrayscaleMichael Sonnenshein has joined Securitize as Chief Operating Officer.

So the former leader of one of the largest crypto asset managers is shifting his focus to bringing real-world assets (RWA) on-chain — “which I honestly think is one of the most exciting frontiers in the blockchain and broader digital asset space,” Sonnenshein told me this morning.

While at Grayscale, Sonnenshein worked on bringing digital assets into more traditional shells. He acknowledged that at Securitize it would be much the opposite.

The premium RWA market has plenty of room to run ahead of some Noble expectations are fulfilled. One point of agreement in RWA Summit in Brooklyn I attended in October and that was scheduled Benefit and benefits (and the economics behind it) will be what drives the tokenization process forward.

After all, Sonnenshein said, U.S. Treasuries (backed by BUIDL) are the security that serves as the “underpin” for many capital markets transactions.

“Continuing to build products that can address some of the inefficiencies and ... moving to offerings where the underlying assets are not dollars, but yield-producing assets, I think is a very attractive value proposition,” he added.
