Marc Andreessen talks about DOGE before the Eliza v2 update

Marc Andreessen called himself DOGE's "unpaid intern" on a podcast. Meanwhile, DAO ai16z has confirmed its plans to merge the second version of Eliza with the main version.

Mark joined the Hoover Institution's podcast to explain the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) as a federal advisory body that operationalizes any chaos buried within the government bureaucracy.

Created by Donald Trump, it is Advisory Committee Andreessen said the company is tasked with reducing “headcount,” eliminating wasteful spending and eliminating outdated or unnecessary regulations.

He pointed to the sprawling size of the federal government, with estimates at as many as 450 to 500 agencies, many of which have “independent” authority not specifically listed in the Constitution.

The newly formed division will be led by Elon Musk, who has been a vocal supporter of Dogecoin (Doug) and Vivek Ramaswamy, an American businessman.

Interestingly, the abbreviation “DOGE” playfully refers to Dogecoin, the cryptocurrency that Elon Musk has publicly supported since 2020. Initially created as a joke, Dogecoin's value has often risen in response to Musk's statements and endorsements.

Andersen further suggests that DOGE intends to maintain constitutional compliance by limiting regulatory overreach. It also discusses issues such as underutilized federal office space, with only 25% of office space in Washington, D.C., being filled, and some officials working “two days every two months.”

DOGE intends to expose these shortcomings in the federal government and redirect taxpayer money to where it is truly needed—all while relying heavily on the endorsement of the President and Congress to achieve actual results.

ELISA version 2 is ready for launch

However, Andreessen's role extends beyond politics. His project ai16z (AI16Z)created in collaboration with Eliza Labs, is at the forefront of artificial intelligence for games. On January 16, Shaw — founder of Eliza Labs and a partner in the ai16z project — spoke about the progress of Eliza version 2, which will be the new generation of AI agents.

The new version is currently in a private repository, but after some testing in the community, the latest version should move to the main repository in about two months. For Version 1, most of the effort was on Shaw's part, while Version 2 is more collaborative between internal and external teams, says Shaw.

This is in line with the growing use of AI in decentralized ecosystems and even broader applications, showcasing Andreessen's multi-faceted contributions towards AI and technology.
