According to data provided by Whale Alert, a popular service that tracks abnormally large cryptocurrency transactions, San Francisco-based Ripple recently, sender A total of $682 million worth of XRP is in an unknown wallet.
This is the first major conversion the company has made since December 21. At the time, it sent over $200 million worth of XRP in two trades.
The latest transfer reduces the amount of XRP the company sent out throughout the entire month of December.
As reported by U.Today, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse recently confirmed that the company owns over $100 billion worth of XRP tokens.
This should be taken into account, according to the prominent executive, when determining the valuation of a private company.
XRP's rise has stopped
Ripple's token stole the spotlight in Q4 2024 with its massive gains that allowed Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen to add $6 billion to his net worth in less than two months.
However, the high-flying token has so far struggled to revive that rally in early 2025. This is mostly due to weakness in the broader cryptocurrency market due to Bitcoin's underperformance.
According to CoinGecko data, XRP is currently trading at $2.30 after falling more than 6% over the past 24 hours.
