Ethereum Foundation Drops 100 ETH Amid Price Drop

The institution sold its traditional payment of 100 ETH for 329,463 DAI stablecoin. According to the same data source, throughout 2024 they disposed of a total of 4,666 ETH at an average price of $2,823, earning a total of $12.61 million. The tweet states that the Ethereum Foundation usually makes sales before a sharp price decline.

Its previous sale was in December – 100 ETH for 402,473 DAI. This was the second sale in a row where the organization disposed of 200 ETH for 776,800 DAI cumulatively.

Today's sale also took place amid a significant price drop, as the price of the second largest cryptocurrency, Ethereum, fell over the past day, by 9%. ETH fell sharply from $3,640, hitting a local low at the $3,308 price level. So far, ETH has partially trimmed its losses, rising 1.32%, and is trading at $3,351 per coin.
